Rising Star Amiri Opens in Miami
American designer with Persian roots Mike Amiri founded his label in 2014 and now offers menswear, womenswear, accessories, and shoes. Among other things, Mike Amiri became known for stage outfits he designed for rock stars like Axl Rose and Steven Tyler. In 2019, Diesel founder Renzo Rosso joined the Californian company through his OTB Group with a minority stake.
Los Angeles-based luxury streetwear label Amiri launched its fourth store in January in the heart of Miami's Design District. After openings at the company's locations on Rodeo Drive, in New York, and Las Vegas, now comes a 200 sqm over two floors located on Florida's coast.
Here, the first floor is dedicated to menswear, footwear, and accessories. To view the women's fashions presented on sleek merchandise racks hanging from the ceiling, visitors must go to the second floor.
It is part of Amiri's principle to design each store a little differently, individually adapted to its location. Despite its simplicity, the interior designed by Paris-based design studio NOCOD and architecture firm TwoOneTwo is inviting and homely.
Brushed metal is combined with solid wood details. Cozy, soft armchairs invite you to relax in front of the large panoramic window on the second floor.
The common denominator of all four stores: the paintings by artist Wes Lang. In Miami, there are two of his works on the first floor of the store. On the upper floor, we encounter a work by Colombian-born artist Armando Messias, who lives in Spain.
