Paradise Textiles Builds New Egypt Hub – Coming at the Right Time
By Yvonne Heinen-Foudeh, Senior International Correspondent
Paradise Textiles, the material science and innovation hub of Alpine Group has announced plans for a US$102 million integrated fabric manufacturing facility in Alexandria’s Amreya Public Free Zone in Egypt. The plant will produce polyester and synthetic fabrics for international active wear and sportswear brands.
The project is designed to set a new benchmark for responsible textile manufacturing in the region. Output for the manufacturing plant is directed toward brands serving the US and EU markets, as stated in the announcement. This reflects strong institutional confidence in Paradise Textiles' long-term growth strategy and its investment in future-ready textile manufacturing infrastructure. According to the announcement, the development is expected to strengthen Egypt’s position as a strategic textile manufacturing hub. The facility is expected to create approximately 1,200 new jobs over the next two years.
Expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2026, the plant will also see the first installation of “Regen”, a microfibre filtration system designed specifically for textile production, reinforcing Alpine Group’s commitment to tackling fiber fragmentation at source. Phase one of the facility is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026. Once operational, the site is expected to run on renewable energy via a power purchase agreement. The company also plans to follow the environmental standards used at its Vietnam site, creating consistency across its operations.
Built-in environmental measures
Environmental performance will be embedded in the project's design from the outset: lower-impact machinery and energy-efficient equipment are part of the setup. Water and power use are intended to be reduced, supported by environmental management systems designed for continuous monitoring and operational optimization. According to the release, these measures align with recognized international sustainability standards. Paradise Textiles intends to apply the same environmental approach used at its Vietnam site to ensure consistency across locations.
The development comes at a time when global apparel brands are reassessing sourcing strategies in response to shifting tariff environments, geopolitical uncertainty, and increasing regulatory scrutiny. Egypt’s duty-advantaged access to the USA under the Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZ) agreement, combined with its proximity to European markets, positions it as an increasingly strategic manufacturing hub. Essential: the development aligns with increasing demand from global brands for facilities that meet recognized international sustainability standards and evolving regulatory expectations.

Financing and strategic intent
The project is supported by a US$ 72 million financing agreement with Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB). Paradise Textiles, headquartered in Taiwan with key innovation labs in Wuxi, China, and Taiwan, connects this support with confidence in its long-term plans and its investment in future-ready textile manufacturing infrastructure.
Ashok Mahtani, Co-Founder and Chairman of Alpine Group and Paradise Textiles, stressed: “This project reflects our long-term vision of bringing fabric innovation closer to the needle, strengthening vertical integration and building manufacturing ecosystems that are fit for the future.”
