Glimpse into Glamorous

Matching Elegance with Sophistication
By Yvonne Heinen-Foudeh, Senior International Correspondent For the launch of their latest collection, Le Déjà-Vu bag, French luxury brand AMI has partnered with French actress Catherine Deneuve as their newest brand ambassador. Created in Paris and inspired by this city ever since, AMI offers stylish and comprehensive wardrobes for men and women, blurring the boundaries between casual and chic.
Launching concurrently with the brand’s ten-year anniversary, the bag is an homage to the classic AMI style while also showcasing the future of their designs. The “Le Déjà-Vu collection” had been made available both - online and in stores. And of course, the dedicated bag series encapsulates AMI’s timeless and chic Parisian style, matching elegance with sophistication. As a fan of her work growing up, AMI founder and creative director Alexandre Mattiussi naturally felt that the actress would best suit the brand, both due to her embodiment of the AMI concept as well as his personal connection with her work. The name AMI, the French word for friend, plays with the initials of Alexandre Mattiussi. AMI captures a particular type of the French capital's nonchalance, one that is relaxed, authentic, and friendly. Born in 1980, Alexandre Mattiussi studied at Duperré fashion design school in Paris. After formative experiences in several fashion houses - traveling between Paris, Milan, and New York - the designer decided in 2011 to launch his own brand: AMI.
