SPESA Executive Conference
October 27-28, 2021
Omni Parker House
Boston, Massachusetts
The next SPESA Executive Conference will be a live event Wednesday, October 27 - Thursday, October 28 in Boston!
This annual conference is SPESA's key education and networking event for our members, their customers, and anyone interested in learning more about the current issues, trends, and policies impacting the global sewn products industry.
This year’s event, themed “Riding the Momentum,” will take place at an important time in history for the sewn products industry. The industry has experienced a surge of momentum over the past two years as it adopted new technologies, mended supply chains, and developed more flexible manufacturing strategies — much of which was done in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We will discuss how the industry landscape has shifted over the past few years, while also doing a deep dive into where it is headed next.
The two-day conference features a combination of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and industry case studies to provide an opportunity for attendees to both learn and engage. While our speakers are experts in their fields, no one has all the answers and thus this conference aims to build communication among both speakers and attendees to address the issues facing our industry and find solutions together.
More details and an agenda will be available soon. If you have any questions, please email marie@spesa.org or maggie@spesa.org. Additionally, if you have any suggestions for speakers or topics that you would like to learn more about, we would be happy to hear them.
The SPESA Executive Conference will begin at 2:00 p.m. on October 27th and end at 10:00 p.m. on October 28th after our closing night party. To ensure you get the most out of your attendance, we suggest booking your travel to arrive either Tuesday, October 26th, or the morning of Wednesday, October 27th, and stay until Friday, October 29th. Or bring your family and stay for the weekend!
NetworkingAnd did we mention networking? SPESA’s unofficial mandate is to always provide open dialogue, open minds, and an open bar. This conference effectively balances educational sessions with more casual off-site events providing an opportunity to make both business connections and lifelong friends within the industry we all love.
In addition, each iteration of the Executive Conference is in a new city to ensure it is accessible to interested sewn products professionals from all over. So, invite your colleagues, bring your family, and make the SPESA Executive Conference part of your annual travel plans.

HotelThe 2021 Executive Conference will be at the Omni Parker House in downtown Boston. Besides its prime location — on the Freedom Trail and minutes from Beacon Hill, Boston Common, Quincy Market, and Faneuil Hall — the hotel's incredible history is a draw of its own.
The hotel was home to the Saturday Club including Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. Charles Dickens lived at the Parker House for two years and gave his first public reading of "A Christmas Carol" at the Saturday Club. (We will be in the Alcott room, named for author Louisa May Alcott, who also spent time writing there even though the men wouldn't let her join their club.) The hotel has seen its share of major political characters as well. Ho Chi Minh, Marxist revolutionary and president of North Vietnam, worked there as a pastry chef and his marble baking table is still being used. Malcolm X, the African American activist, worked as a waiter in the hotel's restaurant. It was also a favorite of the late President John F. Kennedy. JFK gave his first public speech, announced his bid for the U.S. Senate, and held his bachelor party at the Omni Parker House. And, of course, it is the birthplace of the Boston cream pie!
SPESA has reserved a block of rooms at the hotel for October 26-29. Rooms will be available for $289 per night until September 28th or until they sell out. Click here to reserve your room!
Health & SafetyAs of August 27, 2021, face masks are required in all indoor public settings in the City of Boston, regardless of vaccination status. During this event, SPESA will be following the CDC's recommended Covid guidelines as well as rules put in place by the Omni Parker House and the local government. Event details and safety instructions will be shared with attendees before the event.www.spesa.org
